When Grandma gave Bonnie the family candlesticks for her 12th birthday in Arizona, she was intrigued to discover that the candlesticks came with a mystery and a need for secrecy.
As this teen age novel continues the reader finds out that all Bonnie’s ancestors heard of this mystery and need for secrecy when they were 12 years old and received the candlesticks. Near the end of the novel Bonnie feels compelled to discover the origins of the mysterious secret she has kept. She contacts all the living relatives whose names Grandma has given her. At the end Bonnie and her new found cousin Margarita learn that the secret mystery is more important and far reaching than either of them had suspected in their wildest dreams.
